I whittled out a Tele for my son's X-mas present.
This one is Sycamore, Pecan, and Mesquite. The lumber was cut in Central Texas.
25.3 scale, 14" radius, nitro finish. GF hardware.
I cut two large openings in the body core and used it as a template to hollow out the top and bottom plates.
The large radii on the body edges are not in the Tele style, but it's easy on the leg.
I don't like the string tee's and I may use a bar on the next one to get a sharper string angle past the nut.
The mesquite is quite hard and it took lot's of elbow grease to sand it down.

How was it making the nut and setting string height on that? That is one steep angle from nut to tuning pegs.

very nice/tasteful....i don't like about 95% of the DIY electric builds i see, but this one is cool

Hey Jimmy, I was a bit difficult. I carved the "truss rod cover" out of some Pecan heartwood to add some heavy duty bracing.
I added a veneer to the back of the headstock. I could call it a feature, but actually I cut the headstock too thin, thus the extra space between the nut and headstock.
