Lovely work!
(I'm going to see Roger Waters perform The Wall at Wembley Stadium in a few weeks! :))

I saw the Wall last year in Toronto... incredible eye candy. I did have near center two rows back, then sold the tickets since I got two free ones in one of those sky boxes. I should have kept the tickets :-(

A bit of a set-back with the paint. The finish process needs to be re-started. Part of the upper horn had a spot of the original sealer and was not coming off (back months ago during the finish removal process-). The luthier did take it down as far as he could and filled over it to bring the finish up to that level. Problem is, when you polish it, if the finish is too thick, it will move, and it did. Fortunately it was only the 1st coats of flake and base. The luthier did manage to get the body down to the sealer again and has some of the base on. He'll be doing a few more coats today and should have it to the painters sometime next week. It's going to an actual autobody paint shop, a hotrod type facility that has won paint and design awards in the past. Patience, patience, lol.

As for the back, the trem cover will have The Wall concept:

And where each 'screw' is on the trem cover will be a time piece or gears (hands will be added to each time piece, but this gives you an idea):

The headstock will have a small pig's head with crystal eyes. As well, will be this one-inch lunar-tic moon face:

The wiring is done on the pickguard (pickup covers to be added later). The tip switch and jack plate will be in black, to blend with the guitar body. Electronics are pretty heavy duty stuff as well as the CTS pots and the .022uf Sprague Orange Drop Cap. Cloth covered wire is also used to keep with the vintage materials.

I decided to incorporate the moon somewhere on the body (perhaps just behind the bridge or directly on the pickguard in 'space'). For the headstock, I'm adding this medallion at the end of the rounded part of the headstock. I have Swarovski crystals for the eyes.

This is the trem cover mockup... you will have to imagine the brick wall trem cover pictured above (as opposed to the brown cardboard below)... and where each screw is placed (six in total) will be a clock (Time) or gears ('welcome to the machine!'):

Here's the headstock with medallion and two Swarovski crystal eyes.

The luthier just got the body back from the painters. He's supposed to get it put together and ship it this week. From there I have to attach the neck and do a set-up with the bridge, etc.

I'm very happy with the sound. This guitar had killer action and feel from the start, but Brian Porter's pickups are sweeeet! He did pickups for me in a Hendrix tribute, and they actually have a Hendrixy vibe and tone... very uncanny.
