Anybody know were to find the old bar freting steel that Martin use to use once upon a time long ago, way back when? Or the type of steel they were made from?

I believe you can purchase them through martin still. I don't think they list them on their site. You have to contact them. They were nickel too. Here is another place that sells them. Expensive though..Mike

As I recall, Martin sold off it's stock of bar fretwire to a third party (TJ Thompson?) a few years ago and he is the only ready source now
It was nickel based not steel
