The title of the thread made me visualize a paint ball gun shooting balls of super glue. Wouldn't that be a mess.

Sorry I don't have any pics of the one I made but it is pretty self explanatory. Pictures are at the end as attachments. I used a 10cc medicine syringe from CVS pharmacy. The exact one in this link. http://www.cvs.com/shop/product-detail/ ... uId=715154 I used 1 piece of 10" long 3/32 O.D. aluminum tube. I bought mine at Orchard Supply Hardware but this link is the same thing available on line. http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/k+s/k+s5101.htm Also required is a very short piece of 3/32 heat-shrink tubing. Like this from home depot. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Raychem-3-32 ... /203002573 First shring a 1/2" piece of the heat shrink at the end of the aluminum tube. The end of the heat shrink should align with the end of the aluminum. Then slide (it is tight) a 1/8" long or slightly longer piece of heat shrink tubing over the first piece of heat shrink tubing and align it so it is right at the end of the aluminum and previous heat shrink. This creates a stepped "gasket" of heat shrink tubing right at the end of the aluminum. Remove the plunger from the syringe and slide the non-heat shrinked end of the aluminum tube down the barrel and out through the tip of the syringe. Pull the aluminum tube through until the heat shrink tube gasket is as tight as you can get it in the tip of the syringe. You may have to push from the barrel side with a dowel or something. Just don't crush the tube. You can shape the down stream end of the aluminum tube any way you want. I put a slow 60 degree bend in mine then flattened the end to just a very narrow slot the filed the outside of the flattened end into a thin wedge. I used the successfully to insert glue under a loose back brace to reglue it. You might also be able to attach a micro pipette tube to the end of the alumnum tube for very small drops. Aluminum has a limited amount of ability to be bent and re-bent as it work hardens but at $2 for three pieces I think I can get a lot of uses out of it. Dave |

It's actually quite annoying to try and buy long syringes anywhere here. Apparently making using injection drugs less safe (sharing needles) and making woodworking more hassle are both of societal benefit. |
