Hey All, Addam here. The FOLK Guitar shipped today to Tim and I just called him and let him know it is coming. It looks very nice. I have no photos but maybe Tim can take a shot when it gets the bridge on it and frets in. Sorry for the long wait!

Tim tells me the OLF FOLK guitar project made it safely to his shop. He was wondering if we could get a label made up for this puppy for him to insert.

Pics Tim if you get a chance. We all want to see the Stark finishing and of course the progression from wood slices to music maker.

Thanks again Addam and everyone who put effort into this project.

This is the guitar OLFer's built to show their appreciation to Lance K. FOLK = Friends of Lance Kragenbrink

Tim is putting it into his build schedule, so we are patient, which makes us thankful for each step completed.    to Addam!

Yes, I will try to get some this weekend. Sorry for the delay guys. My shop is gutted at the moment. We are installing a new dust collection system since Mary has developed a SEVERE allergy to wood dust. Guitar work has come to an abrupt but temporary halt. arrrrgh.

Thanks Tim. Health issues are so very important. Tell Mary we wish her good health and your efforts are applauded Tim.

I just delivered a SJ to my son last weekend that was started Dec 3, 2003. The look on his face tells me it was worth the wait. I expect Lance will feel the same when we do get this guitar to him.

We appreciate your help making that happen.

Yes, the guitar does exist. I asked Lance (about a month ago, for his patience) to wait until I had my current batch sprayed. Well I sprayed the guitars yesterday so I was able to work on the OLF-#1 guitar a bit. I got the Waverly tuners installed, cleaned out the nut slot and fret slots, slotted the OLF FB inlay (which looks really nice BTW) and got the bridge glued on (with HHG). I should have time to start working on the frets in a day or so. More pics to follow.

Woohoo
I hope some day to catch up with this guitar and give it a strum or two. Thanks for the update Tim.

Does anyone know who cut the FB? My best guess is that it is a 24.9" scale length...

Tim, I didn't cut it but my original design is for a 24.9" scale. Hopefully that is what you got.

The guitar looks great and I wish I could have been a part of it. I never heard anything about it until it was deep into the build process.

If you all decide to another joint project, please let me know so I can be a small part of it.

I was part of a collaborative effort building a guitar at another forum and the whole thing was a little jaded at the end by the donation process and circumstances surrounding it. It was fun and directed with great intentions, but ended up having a little stink around it.

Thanks and Regards,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars

Well I spanked the OLF baby this afternoon and she sounds just like a .... guitar. It has a sweet sound. A bit tight but that is niormal for a new guitar. I will be shipping it to Lance next week. Here are some final pics:

Hey Bruce,
Do you have an update on the lable?

Let's see, the label was actually just virtual So, maybe I can see about that. HHmmmmmm.

Tim, you are to be commended on getting this guitar completed. We know how busy you've been on your shop and taking care of the dustiness business. Plus your full time job and guitar shop as well. Major hats off to you. Nothing like finishing strong! You make us all feel great Tim.

This is an emotional event Tim. My son's SJ, which was just completed, has the sister neck to this OLF Friends of Lance Kragenbrink guitar project. They were bandsawed out of the same blank, one's a 12Fret the other a 14Fret.

Halleleujah! Lance we all wish we could be there when you open the box! Thanks Lance for starting the best luthier forum in the world!

Tim, PM me if you need some shipping money! You finished this guitar on my birthday, Tim. I'm 56.

Broc is stopping by on Wednesday to check it out before it leaves. I will ship the guitar north after he leaves. Lance, you should have it by Friday.

Thanks to EVERYONE who had any part in this project and to the suppliers who donated so many of the items. It took a long time to complete but it was fun watching it make it's way around the country. I am sure Lance will have a lot of fun with this little guitar. We do expect some sound clips and lots of pictures
