Just came across a great deal on Macupdate for any of the TurboCad versions for Mac. I have Rhino for windows but no Cad program for Mac. Anyone care to share any thoughts?

Thanks!

Peter,

We use Turbocad for all our 2D drawing.... there are some quarks but we have no problem going back and forth between several different cad programs. It does 3D fairly well but the fact that it is all menu/icon driven for 3D for me is a draw back....... (we use Rhino for 3D and often type the command)

The latest addition does have an Autocad Lt mode that allows you to type commands but haven't tried any 3D commands...... There is not much Turbocad can't read/write in the way of cad files. We have been with Turbocad since version 11..... so fairly familiar with it quarks......We also have Autocad 2010 and do sometime use it but personally have gotten use the Turbocad and the files work well for translation to Corel for our laser cutting.

All in all a good program for the money. We also have Corelcad which I think is available for Mac but 3D is limited.

Blessings,

Kevin

Thanks Kevin,
I appreciate the input. I may give them a try.

I have it. Pretty nice...
But Turbocad at $79 was pretty appealing!

If it will do everything you need, it's a great deal. If not the real cost is the the learning and re-learning something else curve. A healthy users forum is another pretty important consideration for when you get stuck.

A rock is just a fraction of the price of a hammer, but after 50 nails or so one starts to see the light. :)
