Well I placed a small order with Allied last week and picked up the package today. Don't you just love getting stuff from our great sponsors and guitar stuff in general

So, here it is, just picture the rain...er I mean snow coming down, with the fireplace going (hey, it is going) and time to open up my present (to myself that is )

Cool, packing popcorn, I love popcorn

I got some of the lacewood they had on special and some truss rods and bone nut and saddle blanks. They only sent 5 of the 6 ordered truss rods (6 wrenches though), but I'm sure they will correct that.

Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday.....what ever it takes.... Rod True39039.9440509259

I'm thinking the lacewood will be the first spruce top guitar I build. Shane's Lutz of course, and maybe a nice burst to boot. All the recent guitars with burst have got me thinking about it.

Billy, I'm thinking about a small body, maybe the L-00 like Hesh's or maybe I'll go bigger and do an SJ. Not sure yet, this is just stock piling at the moment.

Hey Charlie good to see you back around here mate.

Anything new on the guitar building front? Or are you guys getting pounded by the bad weather of late?

Rod
not so much except Im about ready to begin finally, thickness sanding first. I have really gotten hooked on homeebuilt tools and jigs though in the meantime {hooray ShopNotes!} and have plans for building many things I thought I would certainly need to buy, including a brass and wood British infill design plane!
I will definitely be devoting plenty of time to building guitars though, and should have some photos soon - Our digicam crapped out but its being taken care of on the Christmas present list.
We should chat - I spaced your ph# - please PM me Rod.
Cheers
Charliewood

Hey Rod,
Is that a rosette inlaid into the table we can see under the package?
Got it bad, have you.

Ha Ha Ha That's funny.

No, sorry gassy, that's just a plate. I don't get to do any of the decorating inside the house.
