Well, I finally got this one all done the other day. The blue isn't really my
style, but I ended up liking it quite a bit. It plays great and sounds great
as well. I'm going to have to make more with this pickup configuration.
It is also chambered a bit. Nothing extreme. I had some sound clips, but
they didn't turn out worth a gosh darn darn.

Thanks again to Mattia and Bob C. for dying tips.

Thanks fer lookin'

Just beautiful! Very nice work.  I must say that I love that blue and that is most definately what I am shooting for on my current solid body, although I might be a little shy of doing anything like your wicked ocean burst, which looks amazing.

Aside from the finish, the wood choices are very nice and have a classy look, or elegant I guess and the design and execution are perfect. Anyhow, my hats off to you, that is one amazingly beautiful electric.  Can't wait to see more of your work.  Jason

Solid piece of electric eye candy there Mike!
Great job.

I like how the volute curve is echoed in the back curve at the neck/body joint. It all seems to flow nicely!

That looks pretty nice, Mike...but are you going to leave the peghead like that?

Seriously, though, folks......
Nice work, Mike. I'm going to have to get some of those dye tips from you.

I gotta say again the entire thing is amazing, but something that really stood out when I looked at it again was how the control knobs followed the burst.  What a creative idea, at first glance I just didn't think anything of it, then I realized how they darkened as the burst did, just an amazing addition there and something I could have never thought of and I love creative details like that.  Anyhow, once again good stuff.  I must say I am slightly biased though because I'm a sucker for blue dyes and volutes! Thanks again, y'all!

Nelson, it is Transtint blue.

Jason, the knob scheme worked out partly by accident. I only had two of
the abalone knobs, and I was going to get another, but then I noticed how
well the blue one worked. Thanks for noticing too!

Beautiful Mike!

Youre the man when it comes to those blue axes!  I tried staining a LP copy I made using the blue and wanted it to turn out just like what I see in yours. Needless to say, it didnt and I sanded all of the blue off of it and started over leaving it a natural finish. I am just amazed when I see guitars like this one and see how the blue blends so well with the curly top. I am humbled !

Outstanding !

Very, very nice!

(and did you end up tinting, direct staining, or a combo of both?)

Hey Mattia. I wiped on the first dark highlight "coat," which I then
sanded back. After that I sprayed it all. I tried wiping on the yellow, but
it was just too splotchy. Thanks again.

The neck and heel/body joint is just so lovely. Very cohesive design.
