Sounds like a great plan Hesh. Looking forward to the new year and the surprises it will bring. Solution to #6...build a table! ![]() |

Another solution to #6 is to get a vacuum press and pump setup. I've been using one for years and I love it. I'll take the black/tiger myrtle L-OO if you're wanting to give that one away! ![]() My goals: Finish some long-term building projects that got put on a shelf. Then I have a few guitars I'd like to build for myself. |

1. Get my shop dust free. 2. Build an OM for my brother. 3. Build a mac ebony dred for myself. Hesh, I just build a rolling stand for my go bar deck yesterday. I'll post a picture in a day or three. It's not beautiful, as I built it from scraps, but it will work great. 4. Maybe try a sound port on the OM. 5. Lose weight. ![]() Ron |

Well, mine’s real simple... 1. Concentrate on finishing my first guitar! 2. Make #1. My first priority! 3. Make sure #2. Doesn’t get in the way of #1. ![]() Robert |

Make my cittern. I've made a neck blank so far, so I guess this will use up my "spare" time in the early part of 2007... I want to build a mini-jumbo ('cos some people round here laugh when I say full-size jumbo... ![]() Then I will see how the land lies...do I want to continue building after #3? If I do, I will consider attending a residential luthiery course, because I want to experience different methods of guitar building and apply for some Arts Council funding (my boss gave me some details about it) to perhaps make it into a mini-money earner. If it all falls through, I am selling my Avalon dred and put a deposit down for a custom build. heck, I'm selling my Avalon dred anyway. ![]() Who know what will happen in 2007? Plans in pencil, visions in ink.... ![]() |

1) Build another Weissenborn as Martha's 21st present 2) Make a harp guitar 3) Get better at producing a finish that doesn't make me cross 4) Evolve my adjustable neck joint for a butt joint rather than M&T to free up the upper bout even more 5)Get a few commisssions (Oh great luthier god in the sky) 6) Get Colin to teach me how to make a lute. |

Cool Idea Hesh. Wow, thinking about my plans for building this year seem a little overwhelming to me right now. I want to have 3 guitars completed by next Christmas (One will be a gift) Get the shop more organized (never ending task) Make the Woolson/Fox neck tenon jig and of course use it on each of the 3 guitars. Meet Shane some time this year ![]() Hey Hesh, can I make a suggestion for the Go-Bar deck? You could build an upper shelf overtop of one of your benches, heck you could move the bench into the middle of your room and than it would be accessable from all sides. Take a look at this one of Jeff Traugott's and of course mine ![]() ![]() |

1) Film a couple new videos 2) Build 5 ukes that are insanely awesome (going to be a "master series" no holds barred, over the top ukes) 3) Build a Grand Parlor with a sound port (Thanks Tim... I've just gotta try it now with all your talk about em :) ) 4) Build the first of my new 12 fret Parlors |

Great thread Hesh! My goal is to do two guitars in the coming year. Number two and number three will both be '00' size in outline, but I'm having an internal debate over depth and material choises. And, of course getting together with Hesh to play with shellac, alcohol and walnut oil -- in a guitar sort of way! ![]() |

My plans for the New Year Build #1. Which means in the next three months build all the stuff I need, like radius dishes, outside mold, side bending form, brace shaping jig, oh, and a small workbench to dance around. Come the warmer weather I should be ready to step off that cliff. If I could only find some way to work on the bus during my daily 4 hour commute, I'd be ecstatic. |

Great goals Hesh and others. Here are some of mine: 1) Finish Quilted Maple Archtop; 2) Start and finish my daughters Parlor O; 3) Build my duplicarver (I'm tired of roughing plates); 4) Build Woolson Tenon Jig; 5) Find some playing time and learn at least one Tommy Emmannuel tune; and 6) Woop JJ's butt on the golf course ![]() |

I'm starting my teaching credential program in a week and they've said, "We'd prefer you didn't work while you're in the program." These are great goals folks. I have two that involve the OLF members. 1.) Encourage the completion of the OLF Friends of Lance Kragenbrink Guitar Project. 2.) Encourage the completion of the OLF #2 Guitar for the Secret Recipient who is involved in the guitar industry. ![]() |

Well I've got one classical to finish and three dreads, two will be "just because" gifts for local players and one keeper. I would also like to make a serious dent in the honeydo list. Swing, sewing desk, new cabinet faces/doors... I'm sure I'm forgetting something. I'd also like to rearrange/remodel my shop... not sure what I'd like to do there though. So many ideas, so little money... Wish me luck. I'm sure a good portion of this list will be on next years list as well. 2008's guitars are already scheduled to be 3 small guitars similar to 00's. Nothing like starting the year under the gun! |

My goals for 2007 are 1) Have my shop completed to the point where I can build complete guitars {mabye less spray finishing?} 2) Build one acoustic, one electric, and one archtop - if possible. I will be working at this pretty much full time when I get going, yet >I have no idea what are realistic expectations for myself at this point?!?!?!?!, with my new "situation". more acoustics if I have time. 3) Start setup and repair business {part time} to generate some much needed income! 4)5)6)7)& 8) Suck up to Hesh ![]() Cheers Charliewood |
