Folks
We are alive, for the time being.
I paid two months of the server on a credit card.
I am moving us as quickly as possible to a more "right sized server".
So if we go dark, that is why.

Not sure about our future. Our sponsors are wonderful but there just isn't enough of them to sustain, and
I cannot rack up any more credit card debt.

I will kindly ask again, if the OLF brings you value, please consider contributing monthly via Patreon.
A sustainable revenue source will be needed if we are to continue.

Thanks ALL!

Lance--

I had been a Patreon subscriber for a number of years. When the OLF went dark, and there weren't any indications of when it would be up again, I stopped the Patreon subscription. I have now restarted it.

Same. I'll be re-subscribing this afternoon!

Lance, thank you for all you've done to keep this site alive, warts and all, for the past 20+ years.

I'll be happy to support the OLF financially - when Lance SELLS it to someone I can trust.

What’s the monthly cost Lance?

We should talk numbers at least a bit Lance. What amount is actually helpful?

I had faith.....and glad the OLF is back.
Hope everyone that gets value form the OLF will pitch in, in kind.

I have no problem with pitching in, but I would like some transparency around the actual cost of keeping the forum up and running. For one thing, I'm not inclined to throw money into a black hole and just hope that it's enough. Knowing the cost would help me gauge how much to contribute to the cause.

I am glad to have the OLF back, and happy to contribute as well, but I agree with Jay. Please let us know how the pricing for running this place breaks down so we know what to contribute. And if the costs are too excessive to crowdsource, having a breakdown of what they are might help others with experience in these areas find better solutions.

Instead of Lance having to sell his wood to keep this place going, we should be focusing on making it more cost-effective and efficient. If we do that effectively, maybe it will help Lance to buy more wood instead and make the time and frustration of running this board more viable.
