Hi Brent,
I have also had posts disappear after spending a fair amount of time composing them. Usually I find myself logged out as well. After logging back in I find my post has disappeared. Sometimes I can make it reappear by hitting the back arrow several times after I have logged back in and when it does reappear I can post it. I don't know if this will work for you, but it might be worth a try.
It is frustrating to type a long message and then have it disappear, perhaps others might have other remedies.

Yep. If I'm just doing this inn my recliner, in the evening, I've learned to copy my text periodically if changing tabs or windows and have employed the backspace on occasion as suggested here a number of yrs ago.
But yesterday and today, I'm fulfilling orders and grading and sorting tops, and just gotta step away for a few minutes to do something else. I think what happened yesterday is a customer called and we chatted for some time. so probably timed out and poof gone.I certainly had spent more valuable time in that post at that time of the day than I should have. If the boss had known, or yet to find out, I'd be looking for a different job.

If I am going to write a long post or something "in detail" I use a text editor to write it up and then copy and paste when you make your post.

Hope it helps,

Cheers,
Bob

I just lost a long post too it's timing out again this has happened in the past.

Just hit the back button and your post is still there in the editor and then you can copy to the clipboard and log back in and paste the copied post, I'm doing this right now.

As if to emphasize the hostility of modern hosting services and shadowy, unaccountable government agencies to those exhibiting some caution in their internet dealings:
