Brett, I ship quite a bit from Hawaii to Japan and the Mainland. The online shipper I use is Pirate Ship. As bizarre as it sounds, since the new USPS price increase, I have twice gotten cheaper rates from them for UPS than USPS. They give you instant price quotes online for both services. UPS to Japan did take several days longer than Priority, but it was a significant savings. I have not yet figured out the system entirely, because it depends on size and weight. I also mourn the loss of the gamebox.Just as bad is the $30.00 surcharge on items over 30" long. That pretty much will kill my small curly koa binding sales.
