I sure hope this is a one off kind of incident. I've had great luck with Stew Mac's service and products since the 70's. Things can change though...

Dave

This is my first bad experience, in the past I’ve always found them great to deal with.

I have no hate for Stewmac, my shop is full of their tools as well as consumables, pots caps etc I buy through them. Without doubt I’ve acquired more tools and supplies related to luthiery from Stewmac than any other single source.

I’m just relating a real experience that I’m having with them at this time and I do have the perspective to understand this one screwed up order is just a minor annoyance in the grand scheme of things.

It’s also a fact that even if they made me really mad I’d still buy at least some stuff through them as they’re the cheapest and most convenient source for some things I regularly need.

Hesh, I’ve looked at that amp kit with some interest as I want a small unit for customers to play through when they come by the shop, thanks for the review.

I built a Marshall 18 watt clone a few months back and it was a lot of fun and it's a great little amp. Those old designs are just amazing. It's kind of addictive like guitar building too. I bet that 57 tweed is a great little amp.... Hmmmmm.....

Update from me, my missing item finally arrived yesterday, somewhat sooner that I expected. So I guess that’s resolved, albeit six weeks later than expected/desired.

I’m still sitting on this unwanted set of tuners SM sent me and insist I should drive an hour to send back to them.

When it works (I've never had an issue personally) - it's awesome!
