If any of you bought the older Stew-Mac routing jig, you know that it was made for the older PC 3101 router, with a three-hole base. My 3101 has finally worn out, and the 3101 is of course discontinued.

So I'm wondering... is there is another router on the market that will fit that older-style Stew-Mac router carriage? If not, I'm going to have to see if Stew-Mac will sell just the newer router carriage (and perhaps the carrier track, not sure), but not the whole set-up.

Any info would be appreciated!
Ken

if you know what's wrong with it fix it...

since I'm not familiar with the jig you mention I can't make the following statement with confidence: I'd think you would be able to drill new holes to match whatever router you wanted to use

edit: my memory came up with the following correlation and "hack"...I used my wells carrol (sp?) jig in the field once and found I couldn't attach my standard pc 7310 router to it because the way the base was constructed...luckily I had already taken a base and run it through a tablesaw to cut it in half for use on door jambs with door stop in place already so I was able to make attachment and route a perfectly round hole of a perfect size to use as a template to perfectly enlarge a hole in some flooring so an electrician was able to mount a floor plug (actually I ended up doing about everything as the electrician observed because he was an idiot)

If you are talking about the floating binding routing jig that was designed to use the Bosch lamimate trimmer (I think) - I simply drilled and counter sunk holes for my Rioby. It has bound a lot of guitars....

If its something else then I don't know, but it seems like an adapter could be made
