| Post subject: | Z poxy wash coat ratio ? |
Looking for a ratio of z poxy to alcohol ratio for the final wash coats? I sanded through in a few spots due to inexperience. Now I think I understand the process better but for this one I need a wash coat. I really thinned down a batch probably 50:1. It helped but still can see the spots with bare wood. |

I do a 50:50 mix. |

One and a good splash. Probably about 12/15:1. It flashes off quickly, probably give it about 3 quick wipes, each with a new wipe - you can see it cover as you build it up. |

I just did this process a week ago, and didn’t measure. I got the epoxy mixed to the lowest line to get it accurate 2 part, mixed it.... then filled the rest of the mixing cup with solvent. I used acetone instead of dna. It seemed to go in smoother , but maybe I’m crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I've used DNA for the wash coat for a long time. I've never seen it react negatively (though I was warned by some it might if overly thinned). Snowman's use is an experiment of one. I've never heard of anyone doing that (except for that video of the guy using lacquer thinner). Lets see how his process works out. I will say all wash coat stuff I read or saw mentioned DNA. Has anyone here used another solvent besides DNA? |
