I know you all have been at this a lot longer than I have but if it were me, I'd take the strings loose from the tuners, wrap them around a stick, tie down the body and get ready with the light and mirror while someone pulls on the stick and see what the heck is going on.

Hi John,
Perhaps I'm just seeing the pencil line then (the first lower bout brace right behind the bridge place and right near the x-brace). Just make sure that you have absolutely no gaps at all with HHG (which I'm sure you already know).

That's a good idea Mike, or some variant of that idea. It might be necessary to pull it farther then string tension will go to really see.

This might be a really extreme solution. Why not just break the glue line you do have and reglue the braces in that area?
