Wud, where did you get it? I got mine from Tom Rein before he moved to Michigan. I know you have met him so maybe this is not a coincidence.

This is the only narra I have ever had or handled but it looked about the same color as the narra sample on The Wood Database: http://www.wood-database.com/narra/ so I never really questioned it.

EDIT:
In no way was I trying to imply that Tom was misleading anyone about tonewoods (if it came off that way). I was merely wondering it our sets came from the same stock. . .

Be honest with you I dont think so . However I had this in my shop for a yr or so before I started it . Seems i bought it here from someone in classified . However I have slept since then .

And I know T. Rein , Hes a straight up guy.

Heartwood can vary widely in color, ranging from a golden yellow to a reddish brown. Pale yellow sapwood is clearly demarcated from the heartwood. Quartersawn surfaces display ribbon-stripe figure, and the wood is also seen with mottled, beeswing, or curly figure. Narra burl is full of well-defined knot clusters, and the highly valued wood is known as Amboyna.

I believe this is crux of the matter

Got the head plates today . The narra will work just fine . Alot closer in person than pics showed . Thank you for the extra piece .I sincerely appreciate your help on this
