Hey all,

(Edited for clarification) Now that Joe White is is on a hiatus while looking for a new shop location, who is the go-to person for a poly finish on a couple guitars I am building.

NOBODY is going to be able to take the place of what Joe has done for me (and hopefully will do for me in the future) - but I need a referral to someone almost as good for the short term.

I hope Joe finds a new location soon!

Please and thank you!

wow7-eyes Didn't know the legend had retired. Hope to hear from him on the forum, he'll have more time for building now..... [:Y:]

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Actually Tony uses catalyzed urethane, not polyester.
Matt Eady does a great job with nitro.
