Hesh.

Thank you for being inclusive and not brushing off the novice.
For most, starting out is hard. You have given many the confidence to keep going.

You also have the longest posts......ever........anywhere...... ;)

regards
gregor

Ah man! So many of my notes are from you!

You've helped so much over the years, Hesh. Thank you so much. If I could justify flying out for one of the workshops, I'd be all over it. :) Here's my sneaking suspicion though... I think you're going to miss forum debates. ;)

Enjoy the hell out of life, bud. [:Y:]

Have a good break Hesh. All us old timers know you’ll be back. The OLF is irresistible.

Rules for a Break:

1. Actually take a break (this is admittedly hard to do when our heads seem to be full of angrily buzzing wasps of thought)
2. When pondering the past, revel in the relationships that succeeded and put those that did not behind you
3. When considering the present, be thankful for constant friends and inconstant enemies
4. When thinking about the future, seek to be a better person tomorrow than you are today

Sounds like there were many disputes and hard feelings. Ouch. Glad I was not one of them! Thanks for all your enlightening posts, and keep up all the good luthiery and guitar building work!

I had forgotten that Hesh was the original bathroom builder! And the 'Bear' and who could forget the Uncle Bob moniker! (I believe that came from Hesh as well)

I am saddened by the thought of not seeing you're replies among the knowledgeable folks on the forum.
Over the few years i have lurked, you have become a favorite "columnist" of mine. A reply I would always look forward
to, and I would automatically read , no matter the topic. Will absolutely miss your contributions!!

I googled it - it's a High-explosive squash head (HESH) - wiki

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
