I'd heard he was seriously unwell, but was so sorry to hear that Kenneth Cierpilowski of KMG Guitars passed away very recently. He was active on this forum, and very helpful in general, as well as in the few business dealings I had with him. He even substituted one template in a pack of 12 I bought, simply because I had asked about buying that one some weeks before. Shame, I'm sure he will be missed. |

Sad to hear that. It was just back last May he was talking about being able to retire and selling his business. He was a great help to me especially early on getting started. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Very sad indeed. Ken Cierpilowski was THE guy who got me building. Helpful at every turn, frank, honest and a great guy. I will definitely miss him. |

Very sad. I got started with one of his very high quality kits and he gave a huge amount of help and support in building it. |

Ken had a wealth of practical knowledge, and always gave the straight goods when answering questions. I'm sorry that he didn't get to enjoy more of his well deserved golden years. Alex |

Ken was sick for a long time and this forum was a place that he enjoyed interacting with folks. His family has been trying to sell his business too if anyone is interested. I never met Ken in person but grew to like him a great deal on a number of levels. RIP in peace Ken and sincere condolences to Ken's family and friends. |

Anyone know if Ken pressed or hammered frets? What method did he use? Andy |

AndyB wrote: Anyone know if Ken pressed or hammered frets? What method did he use? Andy His kit instructions are still online. I think he taught hammering them in. http://kennethmichaelguitars.com/fret.html |

Thanks, John. Was just thinking of how Ken installed frets as he was one of the most methodical people here. He certainly would have built tooling for more precise fret installation if he felt the need existed. Knowing that Ken hammered frets tells me all I need to know. Andy |
