Know what I'm talking about?

Bandsaw out a piece of scrap spruce so it can be just wedged in there.
Just a little easier. ImageImageImage

Great idea, Dave! I'll be making one, for sure!

Today's brand new guitar is getting a press and dress due to the failings of the manly method. :?
and I never could deal with the build up of CA splash on the shop walls ;)

Looking forward to it!
I'm thinking of it as "medical tourism" to have my "Geppetto" surgically removed! :)
Happy holidays to you too!

That's a good one - I saw it buy it didn't click then I was doing a refret last week and realized I was holding the caul to keep it from spinning and possibly scratching the fret board. Also remembered my Birkonium fret cauls need to have the corners cleaned up a bit - they're sharp.

Steve, Just remember, if you soften the edges on the cauls, it's harder to judge the fit of the radius when you lay them on the board. I like them pretty sharp so it's easy to see.

You are right about the edges, I should have said corners, not edges. I'm just going to hit the outside bottom corners a touch with 320 on a block or something- they are pretty darn sharp. IIIRC I think Andy warned us they were really sharp when he handed them to us up in AA.

Oh I like that. Solves at least three problems at once. Thank you for taking the time to share.
