Just got one from Harbor Freight, is half-inch, but it measures .530. My machined motor pulley is .500 and it does not want to stay in there no matter how tight I get it as it is very rigid.

These are made in eec. I guess they used to be made in the US or Italy. Am I missing something?

I'm putting it in a Delta X5 14-inch bandsaw. Interestingly the replacement part I found on the internet says 3/8" but the outside of the pulley is definitely 1/2" and the V belt that was in there measures at .470.

I get my belts from either the hardware store (I'm lucky to have a real one) or the auto parts store.

The belt on my 90's Delta is nothing special or exotic.

You may want to get a bigger pulley or smaller belt. Making belts too tight is hard on the bearings.

I tried one on a s-45 mini- max did not like the belt , got mine at Hf . U can get quality belts from wal mart online or local auto parts store.

Matthias Wandel posted something on his Woodgears site about this.

I would suspect your HF belt is not a real Accu Link, but a poorly made copy.

I put a link belt on my 14" Delta a little over four years ago and it worked fine from the get go. The belt I got is a 1/2" Fenner Power Twist belt which looks like the same design as the Accu link belt. The Power Twist belt is plenty flexible. Maybe that makes a difference in performance?

The other thing is that the widths of the pulleys on my Delta are wider if I understand your post correctly. They are 3/4" wide on the outside and the inside width of the groove is 1/2". Maybe that contributes to the problem?
