Yesterday morning we had a famous client twofer of sorts with two separate very well known professionals patronizing our repair shop. Player one is currently touring with Mavis Staples "I'll Take You There" and Bob Dylan and is in the area for a concert. This pro went up in string gauges and needed some nut slot adjustments so that the strings sat properly in the slots of his Les Paul. We typically drop what we are doing for touring musicians and do many repairs on the spot and on the house. This also often results in complimentary tickets but that's not why we do it. We do it because these folks are who brings joy to millions with their music which, is, after all... what it's all about. Great guy, fantastic player and he left us a five star review on facebook. The other famous player had a unique instrument from a Luthier who lives in the Woodstock area (and does the show) and it has a D-Tar pup from our pal Rick Turner. I'm not mentioning names in either case because we have a lot of famous players now and our way is to treat them with the utmost respect and privacy not getting all emo over them... Anyway these are some of the very most fun times for me and reminds me why I decided to be a Luthier. I'll add that helping a developmentally disabled little kid learn to play by making her guitar easier for her is just as important and rewarding for me too. Anyway for the name of the first client check out our most recent review on facebook at Ann Arbor Guitars. The second name I'm not saying but he's from a place where toilets flush in the reverse direction. That only narrows it down to half the planet... |

Kudos Hesh Thanks Ernie my friend! Wish I would have got to go see Mavis though. What a talent! Dylan can go drink paddy water.... Love his song writing from back in the day but wish he would not sing with his mouth full these days.... He's giving Stevie Nix a run for the money on not being able to understand what they are saying/singing.... |
