I had a client ask me about neck pickups. To make an electric sound like an acoustic. What is he talking about? |

To my knowledge, no pickup exists that will do that. There might be some stuff that will get close (and need to be tweaked). |

Could he possibly be thinking about something like the Taylor electrics that have a humbucker under the fretboard or Taylor acoustics with the Expression System that have a pickup under the fretboard extension? Maybe he's associating that design with making an electric guitar sound like an acoustic? |

Not a neck pickup but a bridge piezo. Check out Godin SAX models or the graphtech Ghost system. Very cool. My live electric rig is a Godin. Acoustic, electric, and synth sounds all mixable with foot pedal. drop d takes a new meaning with a distorted synth patch dropped two octaves down... |

The Ghost System. Thanks!!! http://www.graphtech.com/products/brands/ghost (watch video at top) |

I'm a big fan of graphtech products. And having a guitar like that opens up a huge range of entertainment. |

Yes, Piezo Bridge transducers. There are a whole host of options, just search for Piezo Bridge. Anything from just replacing Strat saddles to the whole shebang. I'm a big fan of Baggs for anything involving Piezo crystals. |

Was he, by chance, referring to the Shadow Nanomag pickup? I played a LP Ultra III with one and was quite impressed. |
