So, I'm starting my first acoustic build after completing two electrics.
I've got a 19mm thick, rift sawn mahogany board that I'd like to use for a few acoustic necks.
Is that too thin to use? I also know that quarter sawn is ideal so I was wonder if using the rift sawn board is also a no-no.

Thanks!

If it's smooth and flat, that should be ok. I taper to 3/4" at the 12th fret and 5/8" at the nut before gluing the scarf joint and heel block, but then carve a little thinner in the end.

I don't think there's anything wrong with using riftsawn neck wood. Especially Honduran mahogany, which has little difference between the radial and tangential expansion rates. Straightness of grain is what matters.
