Anybody have a source with a selection of figured Koa for a uke? I need back, top and sides and the limited offerings I have seen don't include the top.

Thanks

Ed

Check out Bob Gleason's (Pegasus Guitars) web site: http://www.pegasusguitars.com/ukulele-sets-page-1.html

Several sets with tops are there.

Bruce at Notable Woods never disappoints. His ukuleles sets are six piece and often 6 in sequence!

You could try Allied. I know they had a number of sets at one time. They may have sold most of them though.

The other source that at one time had a ton of gorgeous koa, is Volcano Guitar Works. I went to their site and it looks like they've suspended internet sales. You can still call the office and speak to a person about what you have in mind.

Hawaiian Hardwoods normally has a good selection of Uke wood. As the name suggests the wood is from Hawaii. Koa, Mango, pheasant wood.

Maybe this set would would do the trick: http://www.ebay.com/itm/262805442522trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Although it's only "saporno" size. Freudian slip there, perhaps.

I like Bruce at Notable Woods. Received very nice stuff from him. But he always says he's oversold. I'm guessing he's feeling a lot of sourcing pressure. Hope things clear up for him. He has GREAT stuff.
