I recently purchased this set of Chechen wood. So far it seems kinda brittle. Pretty hard. Sides were tough to bend. Anyone ever use? Thoughts? ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Got this from Hibdon Hardwood, hard to believe its the same stuff. Very tough interlocked grain, had to hit my plane blade on the hone a couple of times to get a clean cut. Taps like wet cardboard but its gorgeous. |

The chechen I've seen was really rich in browns and reds... really beautiful and colorful wood. |

The chechen I have seen looks just like what clinchriver posted. I have a set but have not yet used it. It is beautiful stuff the verigated grain has a ton of different colors in it. |
