I'm sure some of you have seen this, but for those who haven't, this is a major time saver! http://stringtensionpro.com (this was also handy http://www.liutaiomottola.com/formulae/downforce.htm) I just strung up a carved top octave mandolin last night and was wanting to calculate down force based on the string break angle over the bridge. This link saved me a bunch of time. I'm using EJ80's which I was able to search and enter custom info such as scale length, and it punches out the figures. Sweet! M |
