Hey Everyone, Attending a wedding brings me to the Healdsburg CA area for a few days. What shops should I visit? Both for luthier supplies and for guitars/banjos. Recommendations please! Thanks Brian |

Tall Toad in Petaluma is always great fun. Lots of great guitars mandolins and such. About 30 min south of Healdsburg. Even closer is the Armstrong Redwoods State Park. Highly accessible with stunning giant redwood trees, nice trails, river is running. Well worth a couple hours of your time. |

LMI and Allied are not far and depending on when you are going there is a Northern California Luthier group that meets occasionally and they have some of the most knowledgable Luthiers anywhere in this group. Some of the locals might be able to get you more info on the association. |

Don't know about Allied, but LMI does not give tours of their facility. |

Visit Tom Ribbeke's shop. And for lunch go to the "Healdsburger". How cute is that? But great burgers, and good shakes. Steve |

If you look really hard, you may be able to find a decent glass of wine. |

Take a drive north about an hour, I think, and treat yourself to "The Highway of the Giants" numerous groves of giant Redwoods. about 50 miles worth to near Eureka. And then there are a few state and national forests north of Arcata. I was there for Brent Jr. graduation from Humboldt State. It's awesome! |

If you wait a couple of years for the legalization of pot to get organized you will have even more to see and do and won't remember why you were even interested.... ![]() Also, never mind I forgot what I wanted to say..... |
