That seems like a lot of extra work to pulp it and everything. I just use a shop made plane with a wide blade. I peel long shavings off a 2x4. It is great because it is already rolled up. I mounted an old hacksaw blade on the TP dispenser so you can rip off the length you need; hand perforating is way overkill. The nice thing is, you can set the plane really fine if you need a softer roll. But don't go too fine or you may find yourself breaking through. |

I'm sure the wood variety matters. Elm is very splintery. |
