Post subject: | Wood suppliers in Barcelona |
Hello!!! In ten days i will go to Barcelona for 4 days. I would like to ask if there is a store that sells wood for instrument construction purposed. I am interested mainly for fretboards and others small parts. Unfortunately in Greece we can only find fretboards of ebony and rosewood. I am interested in fretboards of macassar ebony, ziricote and cocobolo Also due to capital controls it is difficult to buy anything from another country unless we can pay upon receipt which is usually not the case. Thats why it would be a good chance to find a store while i am in Barcelona. For example tonewood.es looks heavenly but it is 4 hours away. Is there smth similar in Barcelona? Thanks !!! |

The only wood suppliers in Spain I'm familiar with are Maderas Barber in Valencia (I think around 3hrs from Barcelona) and Madinter in Madrid (more like 6hrs). You might see if you can order what you're after and have it delivered to where you're staying. |

Thank you for your response. This what I will probably do since there is no other choice. |

if you´re going that route, you could also check "EAG international - wood for music". also in valencia, and somewhat cheaper than barber (not as wide selection, though) |

Thanks for the tip. I will have a look. Does anyone knows if i will have any problem carrying the fingerboards, about 20 pcs, in my luggage or handbag in the aeroplane? |
