After cutting the slots, I re-measured. One was off by about 1/32". The board is Ebony, what's the best way to fill it? I'm thinking CA and dust, but not sure. The new slot will be right on the edge of the fill. Thanks, Dan |

Is he FB going to be bound, Dan? If it is, the fret and binding should hide the repair from the top and the sides of thr FB. Alex |

If you haven't cut the fretboard to length yet you can fix the same way I did mine, (post linked above). I used a sharp razor saw and a block with a shallow angle, (maybe 3-5 degrees off 90), as a guide to slice off a small wedge shaped fill from the end of the finger board blank. Apply a small amount of yellow glue to the edges and gently tap down into place. Not the easiest fix but works well and makes the fix nearly invisible since it's the same wood with the grain in the same direction. Of course if you frets and binding are large enough it may not be a concern anyway! good luck, Jeff |

"One was off by about 1/32"." Which fret was it? If it one of the frets near the peghead it might be less critical than one further down the board. If I'm thinking right at the first fret it would only throw things off by about 2 cents. Further down it would be a bit more. |

If I'm thinking right at the first fret it would only throw things off by about 2 cents. Further down it would be a bit more. It is fret 6. The board is Ebony, so I think appearance will be fine. I was worried about cutting a new slot next to the repair. I think if I use a veneer or cutoff piece rather than dust I'll be ok. |
