Post subject:  Dyed veneer for center strip

Has anyone used a dyed veneer for a center strip on a neck? I'm curious if there would be any issues with glue adhesion or structural stability. Some veneer suppliers state that the veneers are bleached and pressure dyed for 100% penetration. I'm not sure what that would do to the stability and glue up. I am looking for a substitute for ebony to use as a center strip.

I have never had a problem with dyed veneer and have been using it a long time. I have also never seen a report of anyone else having problems either.

We (KMG) have always used dyed veneer for our laminated neck striping. Constantine's is our supplier.

I have used it for 20 years-no problem.

I get mine from Certainlywood.com
