I've decided to tool up and start doing dovetail neck joints instead of M/T. I have standard bits that are 7degree with a cut length of 1/2". LMI's are 7 degree with 3/4 " LOC with a 1/2 shank. the Stew mac's are 10 degree with 13/16 LOC with a 1/4 shank. I suppose the 1/2 shank might be little more stable than the 1/4. Do I need a longer LOC than what I have? Does 10 degree have an advantage over 7 degree? Thanks for your input. |

I use 9 degree . I guess a 10 would also work. Seven may be a little light on the angle. |
