What tricks do you have for securing plastic binding on a sideport sound hole? My LMII binding tape tends to tear when pulling it tight because it's such a tight curve (~2.5" oval). What do you use to get the binding secured while the contact cement dries? |

Strips of glassfibre mono filament tape are really hard to tear. |

That's why I make them circular on the rare occasions I do them, and hold the binding in place with a softwood cone (available from yachting places where they have various sizes and are used as emergency bungs). Scarf the binding ends rather than butt them. Attachment: Sound port_s.jpg
