This is a little 101 but how long do you let a side cool before pulling it out of a Fox bender? I use to leave them over night. Over the years I've taken them out sooner and even as soon as they have completely cooled. Hour or so. Seems like when they are cool they're done. Just curious what others (John Hall) do it/wait? Like Taylor and others we slightly over bend the waist curve in a separate operation then put it on full profile bender -- at temp for 15 minutes -- wait till cool to touch before removing. Our sides are the correct shape once out of the bender and do not need to be pressure formed/clamped in a mold. We store them is a simple holder that keeps them compressed slightly under the final overall length. |

Once they are room temperature, you're good. When I've needed to really move in the past, I've stuck em outside to cool off in the winter and have no problems. |

I bend double sides(2 pieces) together, let them cool for an hour or so, remove and then immediately epoxy them together in the same mold, no spring-back, perfect....FYI....I don't use a Fox bender, my home-made form allows me to bend & bond on 1 form. |

It really depends on what I'm bending. EIR I bend, let come to room temperature, place in the mold. Sapele I bend, let come to room temperature, cook at 280° for 15 minutes, and repeat 3-4. It really depends of the species.. |
