#10 seemed like a worthy milestone to post pictures of...

Parlor 12 string. Adirondack top, Indian Rosewood back & sides. Mahogany neck. Ebony fretboard, bridge & details. Ammonite inlay. French polish finish. Fitted with a LR Baggs Lyric microphone.

It's a cute little thing with a big sound.

Wow. 10th? I'm just starting but it seems that if I can get to that level on my 110th I'll be pretty happy. I'm so impressed with the guitars built by the people on this forum. It's both inspiring and a little intimidating. Congratulations on your milestone.

Very nice guitar with cool details like the four points on the headstock and the alignment of the rosette segment ends parallel with the grain of the top. The fretboard inlays are way cool. Did you slice the ammonites thin to inlay them? How hard was it to radius them to match the fretboard radius?

Thank you. Would have been a lot harder to get to #10 without this place!

I got ammonites already sliced. They are soft enough that with some effort you can sand them to the radius of the fretboard and hard enough that they won't get scratched by the strings. A while ago a friend gave me a Tele style neck to do some kind of inlay on. I've been collecting ammonites for awhile and it just popped in my head to try and inlay them. I've finished 4 guitars with ammonites and have 3 more coming up. So far they seem to hold up just fine.
