Post subject: | Shipping to Australia |
After reading about the potential red tape that must be traversed to ship a guitar from the U.S. to Australia, can anyone speak to what the realistic expectations for me are? It is a non-commercial shipment; one guitar in a case (with shipping box). The shipping option via USPS (which probably gives it to FedEx to complete the journey) looks straightforward. After that, what is Australia going to want to see (paperwork, declarations, etc.)? And what are those costs? I appreciate the advice anyone can provide here. Thanks, Don |

Well, I used a freight forwarding company last time. Cost 325$CAN to get it there which was about half price from fedex, ups et Al. They provided the paperwork. I filled it in, dropped off the box and that was it. |

While I haven't shipped a guitar to Australia, I have shipped plenty of sets there. USPS priority International is by far the least expensive, and is also fairly fast. I've never had a problem with damage claims or customs delays to Australia. |
