Can any of my Canadian brothers lead me to a supplier on our side of the border for Cocobolo lumber? I'll be making fretboard, bridge, bindings and some other accent pieces from it....

I presume you've tried Bowriver? Might also be worth a call to http://eastcoastspecialtyhardwoods.com in Dartmouth, NS -- they list the species, but doesn't mean they have stock.

Ya I was at Bowriver just a couple weeks ago, they don't have any cocobolo....

I'll send out some emails this week to some of the locals but thought I'd check with the crowd first....

Hi Rod, just got back from Abbotsford this evening.
Picked up a bunch of curly maple slabs from Andy.
Try Chanin Hardwood in YEG. I know he had a bunch, but could be tough to actually get it from him.
Westwind Hardwood in Sydney sometimes carries it.
Windsor Plywood, must be half a dozen or so,but they will make you pay
Try GoodFellow, generally a wholesaler ,but maybe worth a try, Richmond I think
Exotic Hardwood, Burlington Ont.
A&M Cambridge Ont.

I think I may have a few coco fretboard and bridge blanks kicking around here on the Island if you need them right away Rod.

And since they are the only place in town I make due with more common materials or mail it in.

Windsor can come up with some nice surprises. Picked up a board of nice Zircote that gave me 3 FB, head plates and bridges for $50. Price that yield out elsewhere.

Got some from Exotic Hardwood in Ontario.

Enough for 2 fretboards and bridges and enough for at least 20 pieces of binding.

Here's the fretboards and the block from the same board for the bridges.

I wonder if Josh House at Canadian Luthier Supply could help you ... he's hooked up with Hibdon Hardwoods in the U.S. somehow, and can sometimes get wood brought up?
