Don't do ANYTHING to the pickup, or it will no longer function. Rout the slot out to fit. |

You don't need to do anything. It's OK if the pickup is a little longer than the slot. Put a little ramp, i.e. file off the edge, of the hole that the pickup goes through so that it's not bending over a sharp edge. Pat |

"Sonicore" pick ups can be bent -- do not trim http://www.fishman.com/files/sonicore_g ... nglish.pdf |

Exactly. Drill the hole through the saddle slot at as steep an angle as you can without hitting the x brace inside. Chamfer it just slightly. On the other end of the slot, drill another hole at an angle, but not all the way through, to tuck the crimped end into. |

The Fishman website has installation instructions for both the transducer and the preamp. The transducer instructions show a single hole under one end of the saddle, so I think putting the end of the transducer flush against the non-hole end of the slot, then bending the element 90 degrees at the hole, letting the extra go down the hole with the cable, is what Fishman recommends. Having said all that, I hope you are putting this into a guitar that is neither objectively valuable nor precious to you. That rectangular hole you have to cut in the upper bout pretty much marries this guitar to this type of pickup. I would go with something less destructive, but that's my curmudgeonly side showing itself. |
