I picked up the set at a Woodcraft several years ago. I have left it with all the rest of my stash. I don't often recall seeing a lot of EIR with a lot of figure. I plan on building this for a charity auction. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake with the piece

Thanks
Richard

How's it looking? Is it doing anything sketchy, or just chillin' with the rest of your stash?

My third guitar was built from very figured EIR and it has been fine going on for 39 years now.

Much of the exotic so called "tone wood" sold today has interesting figure because it is not optimally 1/4 sawn (don't want to start that thankless conversation again) which many times gives it that interesting and sometimes gorgeous appearance. As long as its properly dried (furniture grade here in MI is about 7-10%) and not too squirrelly (relatively flat) to begin I would not hesitate to use it.
