I see a few Island guys hanging here at OLF. If you are going please stop by and introduce yourself. If you can catch the Paperboys you will be doing yourself a favour. Very talented bunch.

2 of my guitars on the poster. Recognise that Koa Lance? Got any more?

Didn't think it would be a problem for a machine like you Ed. Might you have gone with a little more notice? It's a pretty cool bunch. Reuben Forsland, Joe Egen both have some bold design chops. Michael Dunn is doing some kind of workshop. And you get to go for a boat ride. [uncle] BC Ferries.

Bout 85$ each way, 20$ per extra person...

Not really practical for me Danny...I don't even know if I'll have something for the Vancouver show this year...

Thanks for that, Danny....don't know if I'll make it or not. If I do I won't be bringing anything. Have three just about to finish but none ready. Have a great time there.

I've always had the best of times in Vancouver and used to like to stay at the Plaza 500. I've had such great times there that I can rarely remember even being there......:)

I do recall the salmon...... and I love salmon.... and some cable car ride up a hill. I also remember taking a female co-worker to the ER and she was pretty sick. They fixed her up at once, no waiting and when I tried to pay someone they told me something like "mister it's been so long since anyone in Canada had to pay for health care that we would not even begin to know how to accept payment...."

They wished us luck and we were on our way and my co-worker was feeling way better. Pretty impressive AND I'm not at all trying to be political this is a true story in which two wayward Mericans were greatly helped by our gracious neighbors to the north and as such we will never forget it! [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Oh yeah looks like a great show venue too!!

Dang, that would have been fun. Already booked this weekend, though. I'll try to keep a lookout for this event next year.

Probably cheaper and faster to just fly there...
I want to buzz into the Victoria harbor on one of those cool float planes....
And to meet the famous DannyV at the show would be icing on the cake!

Danny, find Steve Heizer and say "Hi" for me. It is his fault I started processing guitar wood. He lives in Yellow Point and is one of the early members of the Vancouver Island Luthiers group.

Also looks like you should post a map of were Errington is as it seems that some people don't really know that Vancouver Island is larger than many countries and most States in the US. Let Rob know he can catch a float plane into Nanaimo Harbour as well and save on a trip over the Malahat.

Have a great time, I hope to make it there one year.

Shane

Oooh, good point, Shane. I was thinking the show was in Vancouver the city. That's a fairly easy trek from here in Seattle. Vancouver Island is another kettle of fish.

Yes, I am a legend in my own mind. eek I felt a little guilty driving past the turnoff to Cochrane this summer Robbie. Always in too much of a hurry to get there or get home. One of these days brother.

I didn't see this till after the weekend Shane. Steve's a friend of mine. He was there but didn't have a table. I'll be sure to say hi next time.

Was a good show. I guess they all would be if you sell a guitar. And of course in my haste to catch an earlier ferry than usual I forgot my camera. [headinwall]

Couple of the notables. 3 guys I know are part of this. http://batemancentre.org/events/onetree-call-artisans/

40 some odd craftsman building something from this Maple, to be on display for a while in the Bateman Gallery in Victoria and then sold. Wyatt Wilke did a mando, Joe Young doing an electric ( likely a Tele) And Reuben Forsland, of the Slash Tree guitar fame, doing an acoustic. He had it at the show and close to up and running. http://joiguitars.com/the-raven-guitar- ... e-project/

Other notable highlight was sitting through a life and times session with Michael Dunn and having dinner with him. No builder on the planet marches to the beat of his own drum like him. If you can imagine it, he will attempt it. Very enjoyable to chat with and was kind enough to share some creative insights.

Lots of other great builders and wood dealers. A good time was had by all. Sorry about no photos. Next year.
