Just a heads up that I've got a new article in the latest issue of American Lutherie from the Guild of American Luthiers.

Actually, "article" is probably taking too much credit. I had the great pleasure of interviewing four of Jean Larrivee's former apprentices, and basically strung their stories together.

Linda Manzer, Grit Laskin, Sergei de Jonge, and our own David Wren.

They provided a pretty interesting picture of independent guitar making in the early 70's.

Have a look and lemme know what you think.

Steve

Steve, I read you article last night and really enjoyed it. It does paint quite a picture of the from the early days for these individuals.
I had the pleasure of meeting Jean at his shop in Oxnard several years ago. He was very gracious with his time and willing to answer anything that was asked. A very sharp man indeed.
It was a real pleasure meeting him.
Great job.
