I don't know if this has been done before, but it works surprisingly well, is accurate and reasonably quick. Also, for me it takes the iffy part of ripping thin stock on the table saw out of the equation. I thinned this piece of wenge to about .070", the scored it two or three times on each side with a lee valley marking guage. Snapped the piece off and gave it a quick wipe with a flat sanding block. |

FWIW, if you use a fret slotting blade with a zero clearance insert, cutting bindings on the tablesaw is a lot less scary. |
