Can anyone provide a good comparison between Cedar Creek and Ameritage? I love Ameritage. Just curious. Do they offer luthier pricing? |

I have gravitated to Cedar Creek/TKL. Great to work with and luthier pricing. Their cases offer good protection for day to day use and gigging and are much lighter than Ameritage. They made a very nice custom pattern for my size 2's. I used mainly the "builders series" but just ordered some for OMs and they have discontinued my favorite, the CC305. Not sure if the other builders series cases are still available. The standard TKL professional is very very close. If you want a standard model like the TKL professional the Tamarkin Company is an option. They offer basically the same case from the same Canadian factory (as I understand it) without the TKL logo at a good price. I have been happy with their cases for standard models. I have used a the DT543 from them for OMs and they seem almost identical to the TKL Professional with the addition of an arched back. |

Well, I love Ameritage. The weight can be an issue. But that's it. Is the inside quality as good as Ameritage? |

I'd say yes but different. Very similar to the Martin "Gieb" style case in fact maybe the same case. http://elderly.com/accessories/items/GCMA-VIN/OM.htm |

I love the Gieb, but those do not look very "plush". Is that the case? It got to be quite hard to find Gieb style cases a while back. |

I use Ameritage and their weight is a problem but I guess that's what makes them so good, I never worry about the safety of my guitar. I inquired about Cedar Creek but they required a business license and tax I D. before they would talk to me about luthier prices. Ameritage doesn't ask for anything whether you build one a year or one hundred. |

I bought a batch from them several years ago, and they were happy to sell to me at luthier pricing as long as I bought at least 4, without any further documentation. Have their policies changed? Their price to me for a custom sized case was slightly less than what retail would have been for a standard size. |

October of 2013 I bought a custom case for a Nick Lucas (extra deep) from Cedar Creek at a 50% discount with no questions asked. Ed |
