Post subject: | Closing down the shop... |
Hi folks, It has been quite some time since I've posted here as my career has been taking a steep turn this summer. I'm closing down the shop and am getting back into software design, which is what I was doing before I jumped in as a full time luthier. The information I have gathered here is not only invaluable, but has allowed me to be a better luthier, and supply my customers with much better guitars that if I hadn't enountered the OLF. So I think saying goodbye and thank you is the least I should do. So, thank you all for your much appreciated help throughout my 8 years of being a full time luthier! On a side note, I'm selling some of my stash. So you might want to look at the classifieds if you are looking for some wood (everything is at least 3 years old). Cheers, everyone! |

Sorry it didn't work for you, Alain. Building and repair is no cakewalk. It's a very frugal existence for the vast majority. We all hate to see it happen to anyone. Also sorry the forum didn't work. Seemed like it turned into a repair forum. I guess most builders keep their "cards" pretty close to the chest. I hope you can continue to build a few. I know one day I will have to quit just because of my health. Not looking forward to that day... I hope things work out for you Alain. |

Good luck with everything in the future Alain! Having seen your guitars in person I can personally attest to the amazing quality! Sad to see you are 'leaving the biz' But happy that you are following your heart. Hope to see a few more in the future though! Bests wishes Joel. |

Alain, Don't you have any interest in dabbling at lutherie a little? You must have had a pretty intense interest to actually make it a full time thing. Unless you are burnt out... Seems like a shame to completely stop doing it with all that experience. |
