I'm planning to switch to a nitro lacquer on my next build. Cardinal looks interesting. Any thoughts or experiences with it? How would you rate it compared to other nitro lacquers? |

I used it on 1 guitar and it works fine, the nice thing is it can be level sanded and buffed much sooner than most lacquers and less time between coats. It is at a ready to spray viscosity, but is lower in solids so needs more coats to establish the build up you are accustomed to. I will use up the rest of the gallon I have and the Mohawk I have on hand then decide if I will purchase any more or continue with Mohawk.. Fred |

Sounds good Fred. A couple questions if you don't mind. I use a conventional spray gun, any ideas on tip size? Also I like to use epoxy for pore filling. Should I use their sealer over the epoxy and under the lacquer? Any guidance is appreciated. |

Absolutely nothing wrong with Mohawk. Price is right too. |

I've noticed it buffs out nicer after 3 weeks dry time minimum. |

Thanks guys. Good info. I also use a devilbiss gun. I'm pretty sure my tip is bigger than that I'll have to check it out. I never considered the ambering effect.good info |

I use a 1.2 mm tip and pore fill with System 3 SB112 epoxy. I use Cardinal sealer over the epoxy and under the lacquer. |
