Or possibly a source other than SM who no longer carries them?

Or lend even? I'd pay shipping and they'd be returned in short order, promise!

Thanks,

I have both the plans MJ and SJ, but I'd like to make templates without cutting them up. It seems every other model I make I either had a preexisting mold to make benders from, or an actual guitar to trace. Either that or I've simply forgotten how to do it non destructively...:(

If you have the plans then just do what I did. I taped a piece of drawing paper over the plan and used a straight edge to trace out the bracing pattern. When I had them all drawn out I used an X-acto knife and cut a triangle at every intersection. Then just used those marks to locate where each brace intersected. Transfered it to the top and redrew the lines. You can't see them but I also put a cut at the ends of each brace and at the UTB and Popsicle brace to mark the end points.

Like this.

Cheers,
Bob

Those laser cut plexi templates are the bomb. Do back and tops. Well made. Maybe Lance could ask to see if there was interest in doing them again... it's been a while.

Right - trip to Kinko's/Fedex with the original plan and walk out with the sacrificial copy.

I may resort to that actually. Haven't found a place with a big enough machine yet. Someone in this meccaburgh must have one though...

Meddling, I bought the acrylic templates a few years ago from Lance. If you are still interested I'll lend them to you. PM me your info and I'll ship them out this week if you like. I have the OLF MJ, SJ & the OM. Let me know what you want.

Most appreciated Hutch,

I think I have my needs covered, but if not, I'll take that offer.

Thanks,

Ed
