I have a Guardian Vintage case that has two small drops of hard glue where it will contact the guitar back Does anyone know a way to remove the hardened glue? Thanx, Vic.

I should add that I don't want to damage the "crushed velvet" fabric, if possible.

Victor, I take it you're ruling out Steve's scissors suggestion. Do you know what type of glue it might be? For example, acetone might work on CA, but it would probably discolor your fabric, but if the glue softens with heat an option might be using either a hair drier or cloths iron and then putting another piece of fabric against the softened glue. Carbon tetrachloride is used in dry cleaning, but is pretty flammable. Anyway my 2 cents.

If water soluble, you might try De-Glue Goo or my less expensive alternate: unscented generic ky jelly, which is slow to evaporate (allowing it time to soften the glue) and won't saturate the fabric like water will. It works on wood too.

violinvic, I am assuming your first post didn't get the results you were looking for?

I will quote myself and give the same answer I gave in your first post.

Organic glues and titebond can be softened with vinegar. Generally this won't hurt fabrics.

I dunno - who knows what kind of glue they'd use for adhering the lining to the guitar case, but I'd be surprised if it were organic.... if the options offered don't softhen the glue I think I'd us a razor blade and very gently cut it out, removing as little fiber as possible.
