StroboSoft for the IPhone! After Andy Zimmer posted here on the OLF about StroboSoft many years ago I downloaded the app and have used it every day for years now and on thousands of guitars, mandos, banjos, and other instruments. It works great! We have a big-arse, expensive Peterson bench unit and when I first started using StroboSoft we checked the app against the traditional Peterson unit and it was spot-on. The nice thing about using a phone app as a tuner is that my phone is most always with me, wherever I am and no separate tuner is needed. The one down side with this app is that it's not too difficult for fumble fingers me here to accidentally hit a button changing the key, etc. I usually notice but can't say for sure that I always have. It's easy to reset, just a bit annoying that it's a bit too easy for me to change the setting on the tuner. StroboSoft is pretty cheap too but I don't recall what I paid. |

I use Pitch Lab for Android. It is really good and its free with no advertisments and it doesn't need access to anything on your phone so it no tracking. It gives you a multitude of different views to see how you are in tune. It also does a number of different tunings and also has presets for a lot of different instruments. Here is a link to their web page and you can read all the things it does. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.symbolic.pitchlab&hl=en Its the best free tuner I have found. Cheers, Bob |

I've just got G-tune and quite like it at first look. Admittedly first tuner I've used. |
